Green Technology

Our color may be blue but our brand is green.

A greener transportation company

Being “green” is nothing new for Metro Cars. In 2005, we began converting our vehicles to operate on clean-burning propane. Since 2007, Metro Cars has used more than 4 million gallons of propane to fuel every vehicle in our fleet. While other companies have been talking about alternative fuel technology, Metro Cars has been leading the way in greener transportation solutions!

Why propane?

• Propane creates less smog-producing emissions, it’s recognized by the American Lung Association as a “Clean Air Choice.”

• Propane is primarily produced in the U.S., decreasing reliance on foreign energy sources.

• It reduces the environmental impact associated with oil production and transport, and leaves a much smaller carbon footprint than gasoline and diesel – decreasing greenhouse emissions by more than 20% and carbon emissions by up to 40%.

4 million gallons of propane since 2007.
